Here's a fun DIY project if you're looking for an alternative to the tradition curtain. We love scarves and wanted to create something to hide the ugly storage shelves in back of our store that didn't require too much time or effort, but yet easily accessible to the back stock (in this case it was for the shoes and boots). So here it is....super easy! Just a few simple steps really...
Measure the length needed for your "curtain" and cut 1/2" strips from fabric of choice. Easy and fastest way is to just tear the fabric into strips since the edges can be raw. Or you can use ribbon if you don't have fabric on hand.
Safety pin each scarf on the diagonal (if squared) or in the middle (if long, skinny) about 6" to 1 feet apart depending on how big, long, wide the scarf is.
Continue this step for the length of the strip. Generally about 3-5 scarves per strip, but again it just depends on the length of your strip.
Finally, staple gun the stand of scarves straight into the ceiling and your done! Or, you can safety pin the top to make a loop and use a curtain rod, but we prefer the staple gun method so that it doesn't move around. Adjust the length if needed....you'll see (and know) once it's up and that's it!
We also did this to our doorway.....
Have fun and you'll see how incredibly easy this is to do :)
